Cultivation

The feathered livebread grows best in fertile, horticultural soil with the addition of sandy cactus soil. Bearing in mind the consumption of leaves, the plant should be fed only with natural fertilizers, e.g. earthworm breeding product, manure. It is a plant that likes warmth and full sun. Watering depending on the amount of sunlight - do not allow it to dry out (although the plant can withstand even over a week no watering). In winter, the plant should rest, slow down its growth, and recover before spring. It should not be fertilized since autumn, it should be placed in a cooler place (but not below 15 degrees C and not in the presence of a window open in winter). We start fertilizing again in spring. The pot should be deep and wide - due to the falling propagules. It does not like excess water as it causes the roots to rot, so it should be watered moderately. In winter, it should stay in well-lit places (e.g. on window sills). In summer, it can be taken out onto the balcony. When it grows too much, it becomes ugly, so it should be multiplied earlier by propagation and the old specimens should be discarded. It grows well in any fertile soil, it should not just be heavy, loamy. After flowering, cut the inflorescence to prevent the formation of seeds (they look unattractive and their production weakens the plant). It is propagated by seedlings that have excellent roots.
