You tried  Once  do   alone  soap  In  home?  Not  I have  here  on  thinks  remelting  ready

soap base, but soap making  from the base, from fat and sodium hydroxide (soda lye).

Soap  I've been doing for several years and I can't imagine it like before  I could get around  without them. I choose oils, from  which will be my soap, fragrance, color and even  Shape.  I'm having fun  the selection of ingredients. It is important to know that the selection  the ingredients cannot be accidental.  Fats  have different values and affect the softness or foaming of the soap.  Olive oil will affect the soap differently than rapeseed oil, etc.  The ratio of oil to hardened fat also matters. So it's good to use the proven ones at the beginning  regulations.

It's great fun and it is like making muffins, with the difference that the final effect of our work will not be eaten, but washed with it.

    How would you try?

This very much  simple, and when you get into practice you will find that  preparation  it's pretty fast - maybe beyond  cleaning,  it takes more time. Probably 2 to 3 hours the first time. But it's like that  everything - training makes perfect.   Just like home-made cupcake dough, it takes longer when you make it for the first time than when you get used to it.

The color and shape of the soap depends on your imagination and preferences. On the Internet you can find various molds and natural dyes for soap. Not only is it fun, but you can also give your family and friends.  There is only one important point, sources say differently, me  when making cold soap, I always wait at least 4 weeks before using it. It is a matter of stabilizing the pH  soap and avoid the risk of skin irritation.  To be sure, you can do a litmus test to check the pH of the soap.

PH scale  is 14  degrees. If the reaction of the substance is similar to  0, this  he has got  the most acidic reaction there is. 7  is a neutral reaction, a  anything above 7  down  14 is alkaline.  Our  the skin has  acidic and may vary between 4 and 6 pH.  Soap good for  skin  it should be alkaline and have a pH between 7 and 9.5.

In the past, traditional soaps were made from  good quality oils. Their task was to cleanse and moisturize the skin.  Apparently, the longer the soap matures, the lower it is  pH. One of  the traditional soap is Aleppo soap originating in present-day Syria.

Even traditional, gray soap,  which has an alkaline pH  has  better composition than most, cute, colorful and  fragrant drugstore soaps. Composed of these  beautiful shop "cubes"  they come in  various  fragrance compounds and  preservatives that can additionally dry out  and  sensitize the skin . Laundry soap is considered to be  hypoallergenic, however  it will also dry out the skin due to its alkaline nature.

They are most recommended for skin care  natural soaps, made for  oil-based or glycerin soaps. Glycerin soaps are slightly more similar to  skin reaction, a  at the same time it is good for her  moisturize.

If you feel encouraged to do so  own  Soaps from scratch, remember about a few extremely important  issues.

ATTENTION!

Base  production  soaps  is  NaOH  (hydroxide  sodium).  work  with  hydroxide  sodium  (NaOH  -  lye  soda)  is  charged  danger.  Lye is corrosive and is used to clear pipes. Its fumes are poisonous. If you work with lye, you need to protect your skin, eyes and lungs. Work at  well-ventilated place, away from children and animals. Ideally, wear garments that have long sleeves, long legs, and  if  it will be destroyed you will not feel sorry for it.

Important note, always fill  sodium hydroxide for water - not the other way around!

Below  You will find  basic  recipe  for soap, you can use water instead of goat's milk - preferably distilled ( you can  buy it at the stations  petrol).

Soap

with goat's milk

INGREDIENTS:

  • 350 ml of olive oil ,

  • 100  g  vegetable "hard" fat  (e.g.  butter  shea, aloe vera butter, cocoa butter),

  • 250 g  coconut oil ,

  • 220  ml  frozen  milk  (you can  to use  water  distilled  - some people use tap water, rainwater, and even dissolved snow, it is important how clean the water you use is),

  • 100  g of lye (sodium hydroxide - NaOH),

  • 15  ml of essential oil , e.g. lavender  (oils can speed up the hardening process to such an extent that the mass hardens in the bowl before pouring it into the molds. At the beginning, I propose proven lavender oil. With time, as you gain experience, you can use other essential oils).

EQUIPMENT:

Best  complete  whole i  destiny  only for making soap. Lye  is  corrosive  so  if  though  a bit  will get  myself  down  eating maybe  to have  this  very  tragic  consequences  for  health.  After  finished  work  place,  In  which  did you  soap  very  Exactly  clean up, you can also neutralize the surfaces  rubbing them with vinegar.

  • hand blender,

  • long wooden or plastic spoon (for mixing lye with milk / water),

  • a large metal ( NOT ALUMINUM ) or plastic bowl in which you will mix the lye solution with fats,

  • tall glass container (can be  jar),  in which we will mix the lye with water,

  • a pair of thick rubber gloves - protection against possible burns with lye,

  • eye goggles and face mask,

  • vinegar  apple,

  • food thermometer  - preferably waterproof, it can be confectionery, great if you have two, it will be easier,

  • measuring cups and  a scale for measuring the amount of fat,  water and NaOH,

  • soap molds (it is easiest to remove the ready-made soap from silicone ones),

  • a saucepan or a pot to dissolve  fats,

  • disposable towels,

  • towel  to cover the soaps in their molds when they mature by the first ones  48h (choose the towel that  maybe  break).

A METHOD OF PREPARING:

  1. Prepare the molds in which you will pour the soap mass. It is important that they are ready in advance. When you combine all the ingredients, the mass begins to harden, so if it hardens before pouring into the molds, you will probably not be satisfied.

  2. Wear protective goggles, mask and gloves .  This is important because the vapors of sodium hydroxide dissolved in water (lye) can irritate the respiratory system and eyes. Gloves will be useful when your hand accidentally comes into contact with caustic lye.

  3. Measure the amount of water (or  if you have milk cubes prepared) and lye. Insert the container  in some drafty place  she passed from children and animals.  It is best to put it in a sink or in a bathtub  glass container /  jar, in  with which you will mix NaOH (lye). If the glass breaks with a corrosive substance, it will not do any harm.  Slowly pour NaOH into the water and stir until everything is mixed  will dissolve.   Important!!!  We always put sodium hydroxide in the water - never  the other way round!  The lye vapors are poisonous so don't lean on them and don't inhale them. IN  When NaOH is combined with water or milk, the lye solution may  be around 60 degrees C, and it must cool down to 35-40 degrees C so you have time for  preparation of fats.

  4. Put the lye solution in a safe place to let it cool down to 40-35 degrees Celsius

  5. Measure out the fats and it will melt them all  Total. Remember that you will not fry fries, you only make soap so do not boil fat,  heat it up enough to dissolve the hard fats.

  6. When the fat and the lye solution have a similar temperature (approx. 35-40 degrees C) pour the fats to high  bowls. Then start slowly pouring the solution  lye  down  fat  and  mixes,  until  you will get  consistency  similar to pudding.  On  this  stage  you can  to add  oil  ethereal, dye, flower petals etc.  and  again  mix thoroughly.

  7. Fast  pour into prepared molds before the mass solidifies in the bowl.

  8. Put the soaps in their molds for 48 hours, some people wrap them in  foils and covers  towels, so as to keep the soap warm. Remember that the soap at this stage can still be corrosive.

  9. After 48 hours, remove the soaps from the molds,  if they require slicing into smaller portions then do so  now. The next ones  put aside in  airy place. Put on paper towels and cover your soaps to keep them from dust.  They should not be packed in foil or plastic boxes, soaps need to breathe during storage. The aging process usually takes about 4-5 weeks. During this time, the soap loses its caustic properties, turning it into a caring and beneficial effect. During this time, it also hardens, dries and softens. All this time, he must be out of the reach of children, animals and laid-back people,  curious family members.

  10. After approximately 4 weeks, the pH can be checked  soaps. For this purpose, it is best to use a litmus paper. We put the paper on the slightly moistened one  surface  soaps. We check the pH on the scale  has reached our soap. The soap that is obtained in the home production process using the cold method most often reaches the pH  within 7 -10. This is the correct pH  and with such soap, we can safely wash.

I know the above explanation seems scary  and long, but it's like making pancakes - you can do  long description with many  details, and making pancakes is not difficult at all.

Watch the video on how to make soap at home.  It really is  simple.
